Dog Health Checkup
Finding disease before it hurts — that is what a checkup does.

Signs to watch for
- Over 7 years old and never had a checkup
- Water intake or weight is slowly changing
- A breed with known family risks (heart, patella, etc.)
- Looks healthy, but you want to be sure
- Needs a full assessment before surgery or anesthesia
What causes it?
Why regular checkups?
One year for a dog equals roughly 4–7 human years. Even an annual checkup is like a person going years between physicals — for seniors we recommend every 6–12 months.
Disease progresses without symptoms
Kidneys often show nothing until about 70% of function is lost, and heart disease can advance silently. A checkup is the net that catches this quiet phase.
Age-tailored panels
Young dogs: congenital screening. Middle age: baseline values on record. Seniors: heart, kidney, and hormone workups — each age needs different tests.
